I'm not a player, so therefore I never scored well in the game with the girls. Simply put, it just wasn't worth the effort. I've always kinda' just waited for things to land on my lap, and halfway thru college it (or she) did. One drunken evening, while playing around, I notice a lump on her breast. Her family history in the breast cancer department was about as bad as it gets, with both her grandmother and her mother representing the family as survivors. I was proud of my discovery skills, and always thought being a professional identifier would be a great occupation, except for the part where you have to give someone bad news. Fortunately for us, there was no bad news, as the growths were merely cystic. The future of detection might be changing, as noted in the article below.

Years ago when I was treated for cancer (as noted in other blogs), I was surprised to find that the medical authorities were not interested in the cause or effect. They went thru the procedural routines of removal and review, but they didn't analyze how or why I might have been diagnosed with such a serious ailment. I assumed that if they could understand my family's medical history and my risk behavior(s), then they could realize how this disease is formulated, and they could treat it better. Maybe they understood that rudimentary polling of cancer positive patients was a waste of time, considering the fact that the future of medical therapy will include diagnosing each individual's genetic code and treating accordingly.
Americans LOVE medical treatment, especially intrusive screenings that give them a sense of health security. The CT scan is one of the most effective ways for doctors to be able to study anomalies withing a person's body. The problem is they expose the patient to a lot of radiation. The guideline below is designed to explain how much radiation each patient is exposed to per an exam, therefore helping us decide how much we really want to LOVE our medical treatment:)
Our society loves to think that there is a solution for everything. When people have health problems, they often opt for surgery or oral/topical medicine BEFORE considering other options such as better eating habits, exercise, or natural remedies. We live in a society where expensive medical treatment is standard practice, more than it should be..... at least according to the article below!
